New Year, New Heights: Headstand Workshop

Headstands can happen in an instant? 
Well maybe for some, yet for some of us, we could use some assistance. 

Please join us at BODY for some headstand practical attention, focus, and experienced guidance over two, consecutive weekend days Saturday, January 14th and Sunday, January 15th to headstand strong into the New Year.

BODY of Santa Fe guest instructor, Krystal Cordova will bring you into your best version of headstand in a supportive two-consecutive- afternoon weekend workshop. Krystal is known for creating a safe and fun environment to allow you to take away clear information so you can safely and confidently start to integrate Sirsana (headstand/or variations) into your yoga practice!

DAY ONE - Necessary Preparations
Guided by Krystal, you will engage in headstand preparatory specific practice to strengthen and stretch your body. Krystal will move you through a mindful vinyasa flow that supports a stable foundation for a headstand ready body. A good warm-up is essential, then activation of the musculature for strengthening your shoulders, your core and your legs.

DAY TWO Headstand and Variations
Krystal will move through a step-by-step sequence to demonstrate the intricacies of Sirsana (headstand), the king of asanas. 
Students will be able to learn how to move into headstand safely with hands- on guidance from their instructor and peers with minimal effort. 

Sunday post-workshop concludes with vegan snacks in the BODY MarketCafe. Of course, right-side up. 

Suggested for Participation:
Willing attitude! A strong core supports headstand balance. This workshop is recommended for anyone who has at least 6 months of consistent asana practice. You will be going upside down, so neck, shoulder and healthy retinas are considerations prior to these practice sessions. Check with your physician regarding contraindications such as retina and/or cervical spine challenges.
